Teacher's Decision To Not Allow Valentine's Day Cards Causes Stir

(North Providence, RI)--A North Providence teacher's decision to opt out of Valentine's Day last week was met with little love.The Valley Breeze reports a letter from the unnamed teacher at Whelan Elementary School to parents and guardians of students said out of respect those who do not observe, nothing would be passed out for Valentine's Day.The letter was reportedly shared on social media hundreds of times.Whelan principal Linda Murphy told parents that after a discussion with the teacher, a positive resolution was reached and students were allowed to exchange Valentine's cards and another items.
