(Boston, MA)--The Providence man charged in kidnapping and causing the death of a Massachusetts woman made his first court appearance since his arrest on Monday.Louis Coleman waived his right to a preliminary hearing and also to a detention hearing during the appearance in federal court in Boston.Police say Jassy Correia was celebrating a birthday in Boston on February 24th when she was kidnapped, and Coleman was arrested with her body in the trunk of the vehicle he was driving several days later; security footage from his Providence apartment appeared to show Coleman carrying Correia's body into the building.Members of Correia's family were in attendance yesterday.
