Law Signed Establishing Federal Protection For Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed

(Washington, DC)--Legislation has been signed by President Trump to establish federal protection for the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed.The John D. Dingell, Jr. Conservation, Management, and Recreation Act establishes protection for nearly one-and-a-half-million acres of public lands nationally, including Senator Jack Reed's Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Wild and Scenic River Act.The bill's approval establishes the first-ever Wild and Scenic river system in Rhode Island and provides access to federal funding for recreation, fisheries and water quality preservation, according to a statement from Reed's office.
