Woman Sues Over Embryo Preservation

(Providence, RI)--A Massachusetts woman is suing Women and Infants Hospital in Providence for breach of contract for allegedly freezing her embryo and keeping it in storage without her knowledge.Marisa Cloutier-Bristol of North Attleboro says she and her husband went to the hospital for in-vitro fertilization treatment in 2003, but were told that all four of the embryos that were created were non-viable.She says she learned in 2017 that the clinic actually kept a cryo-preserved embryo in storage. Her husband died in 2006, and she says she feels like she was robbed of the chance to have another child with him.Hospital officials aren't commenting on the lawsuit.
