Study: Attractive Businesswomen Considered Less Trustworthy

We live in a world where if a woman doesn't put on make up before going to work, she'll likely be asked if she's feeling tired. But it turns out women shouldn't look overly attractive in the office either. Washington State University researchers have found that both men and women see attractive female businesswomen as less trustworthy, less truthful, and more deserving of being fired compared to less attractive female colleagues. Researchers call this the "femme fatale effect," noting that "highly attractive women can be perceived as dangerous." Study leader Leah Sheppard adds, "For women there are certain contexts in which they don't seem to benefit from their beauty."
