(Hope Valley, RI)--People in southern Rhode Island are remembering a long-time former fire chief who has died.Fred Stanley was the chief of the Hope Valley-Wyoming Fire Department for 51 years before he retired in 2015.The Westerly Sun reports he passed away yesterday at the age of 83.The fire station headquarters on Main Street in Hope Valley was re-named in Stanley's honor last November.
