Boston Police Department Fires Officer Whose Gun Was Stolen

(Boston, MA)--The Boston Police Department says one of its officers who was put on administrative leave after an incident earlier this year when his gun was stolen in Rhode Island is no longer on the force. The BPD fired Emanuel Brandao because he failed to properly secure his department-issued firearm when he gave his vehicle keys to a civilian, who then took the gun out of the vehicle on or about February 2nd, according to a police department spokesperson. Two strippers said Brandao paid them to go on a date, and Brandao reported his gun missing after the women left his room at the Hampton Inn in Pawtucket, according to reports. The gun was eventually recovered and the two women, along with a third individual, were arrested.
