Bill Providing More Time For Sex Abuse Claims Advances

(Providence, RI)--A bill to extend the statute of limitations for childhood sex abuse victims to file lawsuits is advancing through the Rhode Island House.The Judiciary Committee unanimously approved the bill yesterday to set up a full House vote on Thursday.It extends the time period from seven to 35 years and allows claims that are currently time-barred to be brought within three years.
