Georgia Is Threatened With An Entertainment Industry Pullout Over Abortion

Georgia is a favorite shooting location for the entertainment industry. But that may soon change.

Three major production companies are now threatening to take their business out of Georgia when the state's new abortion law takes effect. Warner Media, Netflix, and Disney say they will consider halting production. Comcast's NBC Universal has said the laws will "strongly impact" where they decide to produce content.

More companies joined that list yesterday as CBS, Showtime, AMC Networks and Viacom promised to pull out of the state. AMC’s hit show “The Walking Dead” is currently shooting in the state.

Republican Governor Brian Kemp signed into law a bill that would ban abortions if a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which is as early six weeks into pregnancy.
