Narragansett Town Council Votes To Cut Library Funding

(Narragansett, RI)--The issue of how much funding to provide the public library in Narragansett is continuing to be a controversial one.The Providence Journal reports the town council voted on Monday to allocate 400-thousand dollars to the library for the 2020 fiscal year, which represents a cut of roughly fifty percent.Opponents have said the library will suffer from not being level-funded.The vote was listed officially as three-to-zero, with the two usual town council members who opposed the cut not voting.
