Abortion Rights Legislation Swing Vote Senator Flips

(Providence, RI)--An abortion-rights bill may have a different fate than the last one voted on by the Senate Judiciary Committee.House Bill 5125-A, which is before the committee today, would codify the abortion rights granted under the Roe v. Wade U.S. Supreme Court case.A Senate version was defeated 5-to-4 in the committee last month after the swing vote, state Senator Stephen Archambault, went against it.Archambault, who says he is pro-choice, says he is backing the newly-revised bill.
