Facebook Is Taking A Common Sense Approach To The 2020 Election

One social media giant is learning that not all ad money is good ad money.

To that end, Facebook is going to ban ads that discourage people from voting, going into the 2020 presidential election season. The company announced yesterday it will start putting its new don't-vote policy into place this fall.

Facebook expanded its policies against voter suppression last year when it banned posts that spread misinformation about voting methods, election dates and times, and polling place locations. Facebook is still developing the new “don't vote” policy and is looking for advice from voting organizations.
