Mass Woman Charged After Submerged Vehicle Incident In Portsmouth

(Portsmouth, RI) -- A Massachusetts woman is facing child neglect charges after a car she and her three young children were in became submerged in Portsmouth. The Portsmouth Police Department says it was called about a car in the Lawton Valley Reservoir on Friday afternoon. Police are accusing Amanda Nappi of Milford of gaining access to the reservoir's embankment and then driving into the waterway. Everyone was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and the children were later turned over to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, according to police.
