Domestic Violence Bills Among New Ones Signed By Governor Raimondo

(Providence, RI)--Newly-signed bills by Governor Gina Raimondo include ones focusing on domestic violence.One allows domestic violence protective orders sought in Family Court to include any children of the plaintiff who are not related to the defendant, while another allows protective orders to protect pets.Among other new bills that have been signed by the governor, one allows hospitals to call a patient's emergency contact and a certified recovery specialist in situations like overdoses or mental health ER visits.Another bill that is now law requires pension plans by religious groups in Rhode Island to send regular updates to plan members.
