Wyatt Board Meets For First Time Following Protest

(Central Falls, RI)--The Wyatt Detention Facility's board of directors met last night, the first time they have met since a large demonstration last week.Eighteen people were arrested in the protest against the Trump administration's immigration policies.Wyatt officials say there are currently 139 Immigrations and Customs Enforcement detainees at the facility.The board heard from members of the public who aired out their concerns on Monday, including former Central Falls mayor Thomas Lazieh, who said he wants to see every detainee at the facility treated fairly and respectfully.
