Man Faces Charges After Allegedly Shooting Providence Police Officer

(Providence, RI)--A man is facing charges from a reported incident on Friday when a Providence police officer was shot.Nineteen-year-old Tyrone Robinson of Providence allegedly shot Officer Matt McGloin on Admiral Street and ran before police later got him to surrender a few blocks away on Douglas Avenue.McGloin was reportedly hospitalized after he was hit by gunfire in the vest he was wearing and suffered an impact wound; he has been released and is expected to be OK.Robinson faces charges including assault with intent to commit murder.
