(Narragansett, RI)--There was a confirmed sighting of a great white shark near Narragansett Beach on Wednesday.The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy said the confirmation was based on a photo that was sent in.The presence of the sharks has been well-documented on Cape Cod and has resulted in almost-daily closures of Cape beaches this summer.In Rhode Island, their presence has been limited; last year, a fisherman reported catching a great white near Misquamicut Beach.
