Governor Signs Education Reform Bills

(Cranston, RI)--Education reform bills were signed by Governor Gina Raimondo on Wednesday. The first law requires the state education commissioner to develop statewide academic standards and curriculum frameworks for core subjects.The second law requires a fast-track program to be established for new principals.The third law expands the duties of principals and school improvement teams in the area of school management.And, the fourth law requires licensed elementary-level teachers to be proficient in scientific reading instruction.
