Trump Unloads: Impeachment Probe Is A "Fraudulent Crime"

President Trump has always been pretty expressive – but yesterday seemed to take things to a new level.Between his tweets and two press events, Trump blasted the impeachment process he’s embroiled in – and came up a new nickname for Congressman Adam Schiff– "shifty Schiff." Schiff chairs the House Intelligence Committee.

Talking with reporters at the White House, Trump argued that the press should be ashamed for their reporting of the growing Ukraine scandal. He also called the media “corrupt.” Trump again denied any wrongdoing in a July phone call with the president of Ukraine – and made a number of claims that have been shown to be untrue.

Later during a presser with the President of Finland, Trump called the House impeachment inquiry a "fraudulent crime" against the American people. Trump again challenged the credibility of the anonymous whistleblower at the heart of the Ukraine scandal – and threw more barbs at Schiff, suggesting that Schiff helped write the whistleblower complaint and said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hands out subpoenas "like cookies."

  • Speaking of subpoenas, the White House has been served with a number of them – and a deadline of tomorrow to produce documents. When asked by a reporter if he was planning to cooperate, the President replied, “Well, I always cooperate. This is a hoax. This is the greatest hoax.”
