Key Witness In Amber Guyger Case Murdered

A key witness in the Amber Guyger murder trial is dead – after being shot Friday night. The “Dallas Morning News” reports Joshua Brown was a neighbor of Botham Jean and Guyger.

He lived across the hall from Jean and testified about the night he was killed by Guyger. Specifically, he never heard Guyger yell at Jean to “show his hands.” This matters because apparently, he could often hear Jean singing in his apartment.

And this was no accident. When officers arrived at the scene around 10:30pm – a location different than where Brown originally lived – he was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Brown had reportedly been in fear for his life.

Witnesses said they saw a silver four-door sedan speeding out of the parking lot. There is no description of the suspect. Attorney S. Lee Merritt, who represented the Jean family at the trial, says that Brown's mother has asked him to help find out who murdered her son

  • Former Dallas police officer Guyger was convicted last week for murdering Jean and sentenced to ten years in jail. She claimed she thought he was an intruder inside her apartment when she shot and killed him. She was actually in his apartment.
  • Meanwhile, there’s a $ 100-thousand reward established in the hunt for the killer. Activist Shaun King made the announcement over the weekend, crediting author Bill Perkins with kicking the fund into gear.
