A Deal Could Be Close In The GM Strike

A deal to end the nearly month-long strike by the United Auto Workers against General Motors might be in the works.

The UAW has called in the National GM Council, which is made up of local union presidents from around the country, for a Thursday morning meeting. No details have leaked on whether GM and the union are close to announcing a tentative agreement, but analysts say just giving them an update is not likely the reason for calling in the local presidents.

Negotiations between the union and GM are set to resume this morning.
