Inmate Admits To Involving Mom In Drug-Trafficking Effort

(Providence, RI)--An ACI inmate is admitting to running a crack cocaine distribution effort.The U.S. Justice Department says James Gomes admitted in court this week that he arranged for the sale and delivery of the drug to people outside the state prison multiple times.The DOJ says Gomes admitted that he often passed info through his mother, Lisa Ellis of Pawtucket, who is awaiting trial on cocaine distribution conspiracy charges herself. Gomes is scheduled to be sentenced in January.
