(East Providence, RI)--An artificial reef is being constructed in Upper Narragansett Bay.The Nature Conservancy and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management are constructing the reef near Sabin Point Park in East Providence with the goal of improving bottom habitat for fish.Officials say this will be the first of its kind in Rhode Island waters.Construction started on Wednesday and it is expected to be finished today.
