Razor Ad First Ever To Show Women With Facial Hair

Some women go through a lot to hide their body hair and some people still find it shocking that women have body hair. While it’s becoming less taboo, it seems certain kinds of body hair are more acceptable. Thanks to ads and celebs, a fluffy tuft of armpit hair or leg hair showing is more common, but women with facial hair? No one’s gone there yet, but indie razor brand Billie is trying to change that.

Billis has a history of challenging old school beauty standards about female body hair. It was the first brand to show actual body hair in a women’s shaving ad and they’ve normalized hair as a natural part of women’s bodies in other ad campaigns. And now they’re the first women’s brand to participate in Movember - a fundraiser for prostate and testicular cancer awareness through growing mustaches - and the first women’s razor brand to show facial hair … on a woman.

They’ve got a new ad campaign featuring women of all shapes, sizes, and races showing off their facial hair and reminding everyone that women can have mustaches, too and encouraging women to grow theirs out. Plus, Billie will match 100% of contributions to its Team Billie Movember campaign up to $50,000.
