State Health Department On Board With HIV Prevention Model

(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island Department of Health is announcing it is on board with an HIV prevention model used in other states. It's called "undetectable-untransmittable", or U-U, referring to the scientific consensus that people living with HIV who take anti-retroviral therapy daily and have undetectable levels of HIV in their blood have effectively no risk of transmitting the disease to their sex partners.Director of Health Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott says the campaign is about replacing stigma with science.
