Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is asking people to open their hearts and wallets to help those in Australia.
She launched a GoFundMe campaignthis week as much of the country is surrounded by flames. More than 200 fires have been burning for months, killing at least 24 people and an estimated one-billion animals.
Celebrity donations have been pouring in since Russell Crowe's speech at the Golden Globes. The GoFundMe goal is five-million dollars. At last check, the total tops a million, with “everyday people” being the bulk of the donors.
