President Trump is looking to move more than seven-billion dollars from the Pentagon for border wall construction this year.
Nearly four-billion dollars will come from military construction funding, according to reports. Another three-and-a-half billion will be taken from counter-drug programs. The amount is far more than what Congress allowed for in the budget.
The Trump administration has completed just over 100 miles of border barriers so far. The funding would be enough to complete 885 miles of new fencing by spring 2022.
