State Lawmaker Proposes Exemption For Tinted Window Law

(Providence, RI)--New legislation is being introduced to allow Rhode Island lawmakers and other officials to be exempt from the state ban on tinted windows on motor vehicles.Police officers, firefighters and judges would also be included.State Representative Anastasia Williams, who introduced the measure, tells The Providence Journal the proposal is for public safety reasons.For example, she says she has been followed to her car in the State House parking lot, and said other lawmakers wanted a police escort after debate on last year's abortion bill.
