Rhode Island Senate Approves 3D-Printed Gun Ban

(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island Senate approved a ban on 3D-printed guns and other untraceable firearms on Wednesday. The bill now goes to the House, where there is companion legislation.A State House press release notes banning the weapons was one of the recommendations made by a task force assembled after the school shooting in Parkland, Florida in 2018.It was initially believed a 3D-printed gun was used in a fatal Pawtucket shooting on New Year's Day, but the state crime lab has since said this was not likely the case.
