Two Men Sentenced To Over Thirteen Years For Pawtucket Shooting

(Warwick, RI)--Two Central Falls men are being sentenced to thirteen-and-a-half years in the ACI for a shooting in Pawtucket.The Rhode Island Attorney General's Office says Sergio Garcia and Helton Rodrigues pleaded no contest on Friday to several charges including felony assault.The A.G.'s office says Garcia and Rodriguez encountered another individual at the West Mart Convenience Store in Pawtucket in 2018; this person was wearing a sweatshirt depicting a photo of his friend Robert Baptista, who was murdered in 2016.The prosecutor's office says Garcia and Rodrigues told him he would end up like Baptista and later fired multiple rounds at him; the victim suffered injuries after being struck by the gunfire.
