Remote Learning Starts Today For Schools, Other COVID-19 Education Notes

(Providence, RI)--Remote learning is beginning for public school students in Rhode Island today.Classrooms are shut down for the rest of this month because of COVID-19.Governor Gina Raimondo on Sunday asked for patience as the two-week learning period gets underway.Providence College also announced on Friday it will go to remote classes for the rest of the semester and has postponed its commencement activities scheduled for May 17th.In related news, the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority announced on Friday it is suspending non-federal student loan repayments for borrowers who are financially impacted by the virus pandemic.
