Providence Reopens Some Streets That Were Closed

(Providence, RI)--The city of Providence is making changes to its new closed-streets initiative.Normal traffic flow has been restored to the following: Oxford Street between Elmwood and Prairie avenues, Parade Street between Wood and Cranston streets, and Camp Street between Doyle and Stenton avenues.Some residents and businesses complained about the street closures when they started this past weekend, and the "Slow Streets" initiative has drawn criticism from at least one Providence City Council member.But, the city called the launch of the program "successful".
