(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Suttell on Friday reset the timeline for court proceedings in the state that have been impacted by the coronavirus.Grand jury proceedings can resume today.Courts will stay closed for routine matters for the rest of this month; on June 1st, in-person bench trials and eviction proceedings can start back up. Superior Court criminal cases and civil jury trials have been pushed back to August.The court buildings in Newport and Washington counties are staying closed until September.
