Rhode Island Beaches, Churches, Hair Care Businesses Reopening Soon

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island's second phase of re-opening out of the coronavirus emergency, which Governor Gina Raimondo has indicated will start in June, was a focus at the governor's coronavirus briefing on Monday.Raimondo said she expects the rest of the state's beaches to open with bathroom and concession services in Phase 2 after announcing a limited opening of East Matunuck and Scarborough beaches this upcoming weekend.Raimondo also said Rhode Island and Connecticut are coordinating timelines for re-opening hair salons and barbershops next month, and that the state is aiming for in-person religious services to start on the weekend of May 30th.The governor said she hoped Rhode Islanders would wait for those services to start here instead of going to neighboring Massachusetts, where places of worship have already been allowed to re-open and the salons and barbershops will be allowed back open for business next Monday.
