Harry Styles Donates Bail Funds For George Floyd Protesters

Harry Styles is calling for serious change.

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer is standing in solidarity with Black Lives Matter in the wake of the tragic killing of George Floyd. This weekend, Styles officially broke his silence in light of the nationwide outrage and unrest of protesters across the country demanding justice for Floyd, the unarmed Black man who died after former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin rendered him unable to breathe by kneeling on Floyd’s neck for several minutes during an arrest.

“I do things every day without fear, because I am privileged, and I am privileged every day because I am white,” the 26-year-old began his statement, along with a graphic advocating Black Lives Matter. “Being not racist is not enough, we must be anti racist. Social change is enacted when a society mobilizes. I stand in solidarity with all of those protesting.”

Doubling down on his statement, the “Adore You” crooner also pledged to donate funds to help bail out protest organizers.

“I’m donating to help post bail for arrested organizers,” he added. “Look inwards, educate yourself and others. LISTEN, READ, SHARE, DONATE and VOTE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. BLACK LIVES MATTER.”

Styles is not the only celebrity offering to post bail. Stars like Steve Carell, Janelle Monae, Kehlani, Seth Rogan, and others have pledged to match at least $1,000 in donations to the cause.

Chrissy Teigen, inspired to counter MAGA Night, did the same, tweeting, "In celebration of whatever the f—k maga night is, I am committed to donating $100,000 to the bail outs of protestors across the country," before upping her contribution, "Make it $200,000."
