Curfews Instituted In Rhode Island Following Unrest In Providence

(Undated)--The sounds of rioting in Providence overnight Tuesday gave away to the sounds of helicopters patrolling the Rhode Island capital's metro area last night following the activation of the National Guard.Providence has instituted a 9 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew until next Tuesday.Other cities that have instituted curfews include Central Falls, Coventry, Cranston, Cumberland, East Providence, Pawtucket, Warwick and West Warwick.Governor Gina Raimondo said Tuesday morning's rioting in Providence was not a police violence protest, but rather an organized attack on the community.About sixty-five people, nearly half of whom were from the city, were arrested on Tuesday.
