Use Of Force Review Protocol Expanded By Attorney General

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha [[ nair-OH-nuh ]] is announcing updated rules for reviewing use of force by law enforcement. The A.G.'s office says police departments must now submit for review reports on incidents involving alleged excessive use of force and less-than-deadly force resulting in serious injury, in addition to reporting incidents of deadly force usage and deaths of people in custody. The goal is to hold officers who use excessive force accountable before it results in death, according to Neronha.
