Providence Requiring Firework Vendors To Get Sales Permit

(Providence, RI)--Providence officials are taking a step to crack down on illegal firework use.The city is now requiring firework vendors to hold a sales permit at a cost of fifty dollars annually, and separate permit applications are required for each place fireworks are sold.Amateur firework complaints all over New England are way up this year as professional shows have been canceled because of the coronavirus.Only ground and hand-held sparkling devices are legal for general public use in Rhode Island.
