Calls Increase To Share Virus Relief Money With Small Businesses

(Providence, RI)--Pressure is being put on Governor Gina Raimondo to use federal coronavirus relief money to help small businesses.The RI Small Business Coalition wants at least ten percent of the one-point-two-five-billion dollars in federal relief funds to be turned into grants for impacted businesses.Lieutenant Governor Dan McKee's office launched an online petition for the small business grants last week.The state Senate Finance Committee told members of Raimondo's economic team yesterday that some small businesses are at risk of going under in a matter of weeks without more help.
