Coronavirus Briefings Going To Once-Weekly; Update On Tourist Testing

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo held her first coronavirus briefing in a week yesterday and said the plan starting next week is to only have one weekly briefing on Wednesdays.Raimondo said the state is continuing to trend in the right direction against the pandemic with low positivity-testing rates and declining hospital numbers. The governor asked tourists visiting Rhode Island to take a one-hundred-dollar-virus test at one of ten testing sites that have been established if they are from a state with a positivity-testing rate of more than five percent, unless they have proof of a negative result from within 72 hours of visiting the Ocean State.Absent that, those vacationers will be asked to quarantine.
