Social Gathering Limit Reduced Due To COVID-19 Spread

(Providence, RI)--Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo on Wednesday lowered the numerical limit for social gatherings from 25 to 15 people. This because of too many large parties and not enough mask-wearing among Ocean State residents, Raimondo said, bringing back the pandemic emergency-era phrase "knock it off", telling people that their right to have a party shouldn't infringe on the right to life for people who are being affected by the disease.Raimondo said that was the only change to Phase 3 of the state's re-opening, which was extended yesterday to August 28th, as she said the state's infection rate is still too high.
