COVID-19 Update: Governor Estimates 29,000 Vaccine Doses Initially

(Providence, RI) -- Governor Raimondo is estimating Rhode Island will have about 29-thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine by the end of this month. She says priority will be given to health care workers, first responders and those at most risk such as residents of long-term care facilities. The governor says while the virus will be around for months, the bottom line is that help is on the way.

Spike In Cases Inside Nursing Homes

(Providence, RI) -- Coronavirus is spiking in Rhode Island nursing homes. The Providence Journal reports the state Department of Health is reporting 410 cases among nursing home residents in the last two weeks. About 68-percent of virus-related deaths have been nursing home residents.
