State Says No Delay In COVID Unemployment

(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training says there will be no interruption to extended unemployment benefits, despite the timing of the newly-approved federal COVID stimulus package.President Trump did not sign the second-round stimulus deal until after the special unemployment program expired, leading to concerns that the out-of-work would face a benefits gap.Not to worry, says the RI DLT, which adds that a three-hundred-dollar unemployment bonus included in the approved stimulus will show up right away.
