Raimondo's Departure To D.C. Is Delayed

(Washington, DC) -- Governor Raimondo's presumed departure to become U.S. Secretary of Commerce is delayed. Texas Senator Ted Cruz has placed her nomination on hold which prevents a motion for a vote from reaching the full Senate. He says he's concerned by Raimondo's lack of commitment to keep the Chinese telecommunications company Huawei on an Entity List for national security reasons. Cruz is one of three Republican senators who voted against her nomination in committee earlier this week, which approved her on a 21-3 vote.
