Man Pleads Guilty To Torching Police Cruiser During Providence Riot

(Providence, RI)--A Rhode Island man on Thursday pleaded guilty to malicious attempt to damage or destroy a vehicle, a charge arising from the 2020 riot in Providence.The Justice Department says Nicholas Scaglione of Cranston admitted to climbing on top of an unoccupied marked Providence police cruiser, spraying a flammable liquid inside, then applying an accelerant to set the car on fire.Scaglione faces up to twenty years in prison when he is sentenced in June.
