Secretary Of Commerce Raimondo Discusses American Jobs Plan

(Washington, DC) -- Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, the former Rhode Island governor, took part in her first White House media briefing on Wednesday. Raimondo went to bat for President Biden's $2 trillion American Jobs Plan, claiming the U.S. has neglected key investments in infrastructure for too long. Raimondo said she does not agree with warnings from some business leaders that raising the corporate tax rate, as Biden has proposed to help pay for the plan, will in fact kill jobs. She said the administration is open to compromise on the corporate tax rate and other parts of the proposal.
