RI Medical Marijuana Dispensary Lottery Delayed

(Providence, RI) -- A lottery to determine who gets licenses to operate six new medical marijuana dispensaries in Rhode Island is being delayed. State officials had hoped to hold the lottery this spring, but they say it might not happen until August now because one of the companies not picked for the lottery is appealing. WPRI-TV reports that company is Atlas Enterprises, which is proposing a dispensary in Newport. The Rhode Island Island Department of Business Regulation included twenty-four companies in the lottery and determined that four applicants did not qualify.
