State Clerar Of West Nile Virus In Latest Test

There is no new evidence of West Nile Virus in Rhode Island based on the latest round of testing of mosquitoes trapped statewide.

To date, there have been five positive findings of WNV in the state, but no positive samples for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

However, Triple E has been confirmed in mosquitoes trapped in Voluntown, Connecticut, less than 40-miles from Providence.

Experts caution it's the first evidence of Triple E this season in southern New England.

That season won't end until the first hard frost.
