East Providence Police Get New Top Cop

There's a new police chief in East Providence. Christopher Francesconi was appointed and sworn-in yesterday by Mayor Bob DaSilva. 

He joined the East Providence department in 2000 and rose to the rank of deputy chief in 2019.

 “It is truly a tremendous honor to be selected as the 15th Chief of Police in the long and rich history of the East Providence Police Department,” Chief Christopher Francesconi said. “The men and women of this agency are some of the finest law enforcement officers in the region.

Francesconi is the city's 15th police chief.
