A Catholic priest in Providence is being charged with possessing and transferring child pornography.
Father James Jackson was arrested over the weekend and taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions after he was arraigned and was not able to pay bail. Jackson was the pastor at St. Mary's Church on Broadway.
Troopers say they were investigating child porn cases and the IP address of the church came up.
The Catholic Diocese of Providence says he has been prohibited from continuing to serve.
